Carley And Her Perseverance

I think she had to jump a two meter tall hurdle when she tried to talk to Toni because it is hard to own up to your mistakes, especially when you have just become friends and you finally trust each other. Hopefully, Toni will forgive Carley, but I wouldn't blame Toni if she didn't. It's hard to learn to trust someone when you don't know a thing about them. And it's even worse when you find out they lied to you.
Carley has been trying to warm up to Daniel because she knows that it would be best for their family, but I think when she helped Daniel with his basketball, she finally got a glimpse of the "real Daniel". Daniel trusted her with a secret about his dad- that Mr. Murphy wants Daniel to play baseball, but Daniel wants to play basketball and he feels like his father is disappointed in him- and that made Carley realize that the Murphys are not perfect.

Hi Alexia, I really liked this blog because you used a great metaphor. I think that if you explained Carley's "Real situation" then it would've made more sense to people that haven't read the book. Do you think that Toni will eventually feel sympathy for Carley and apologize? Great Job. (I had so much trouble trying to find constructive criticism)

Hey Alexia!
I agree with you when you said Carley persevered when she talked to Toni after Toni found out about Carley's foster past.
But I think Toni shouldn't get mad at Carley for not telling her about her "real" parents, put your self in Carley's shoes. Would you tell someone you just met a couple weeks ago in a new school that you were a foster child because your parents abused you? ~Steven D
