You are in the mall and all you can hear is the hustle and bustle of everyone rushing to get the best Christmas presents that they can find. You, are walking around and you can't seem to find anything that you like. It feels like you have been walking around for hours. For you, shopping is the best and the worst at the same time. It is the best for all the pretty things that you see and the possibility that you will one day obtain these items. It's the worst for the price of everything, and we all know that the price tag is the decision maker for all of our presents. You bump into some old friends and they invite you to Christmas dinner. You check your phone and see that you are busy that day, and you feel sad that you have to decline, but a thought rises in your head. "How about we have brunch on Christmas day?" "We would love to!" they say happily. You say your goodbyes and realize that you are smiling from cheek to cheek. This shopping trip has not been as bad as I thought it might've been.
You get home to your little apartment on the 16th floor and make yourself some "After Eight" hot chocolate. The weather outside is frightful, but the fire is so delightful, and since you have no place to go, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow. You cuddle up with some warm red and green blankets and sit on your couch, looking out from your amazing view. The snowflakes look one of a kind, and even though you know that none of them are the same, you are noticing for the first time how beautiful they look. You put on some Christmas music, finish your hot chocolate, and start decorating your tree. You take some shiny globes and hang them all around the tree. You look in your main hall closet and find a big gold star. You walk over to your tree and place it on top, and being the person that you are, you take a selfie with the tree and post it on Facebook. After finishing with the decorations all around the house, you decide to go to bed. You can't wait for brunch with your friends tomorrow.
At around 10, you get dressed nice and cozy and head off to "The Brunch House" to meet up with your friends. You hug each other and sit down at a table near the window. A waiter named Amanda comes to your table with a menu. You aren't too hungry so you just order bacon and eggs. After that, you pay for everyone and you all go for a walk and catch up with each other. Of course, you stop at "Starbucks" and everyone but you orders one of the Christmas coffees, but you order a grande hot chocolate, because "Starbucks" hot chocolate is the best. You continue walking along with your friends on the street now becoming warmer thanks to the wonderful hot chocolate. You reach your apartment, say your goodbyes again and head upstairs. You call your family and friends and wish them merry Christmas. You look under the tree and realize that you haven't opened your presents yet. You take the biggest one, of course, and open it up. It's just the thing that you wanted, that one shirt at the mall that you were looking at for 1 hour straight.
